Have you ever heard about CBD oil skincare? It’s a new trend in the beauty space and everyone is talking about it. Many people are aware of how awesome CBD skin care can be, but some are still behind and left wondering what it is. In this article, we’ll dive into some of these points and tell you why you need to have it in your routine.
Hemp has been a medicine for centuries
Did you know that the first paper ever was made from hemp? In fact many civilizations before ours have used the plant for things like medicine, rope, clothing, and even fuel!
As technology progressed we have been able to look closer at what makes up the parts of the hemp plant, including all the little chemicals it produces. One of the most promising chemicals to be discovered is called CBD (Cannabidiol). The research being conducted on CBD found evidence that it may help with conditions like anti-aging, skin problems, wellness, and pain relief.
How does CBD oil skincare work?
Hemp CBD interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system, which helps regulate things like mood, appetite, and pain sensation. CBD is a cannabinoid from the hemp plant, and when cannabinoids enter the body they stimulate the endocannabinoid system.
CBD is an antioxidant
Anyone who uses skin care products knows the value of antioxidants. Hemp CBD is packed with nutritional elements that your skin can benefit from. Studies have shown that Hemp CBD has more antioxidant power than Vitamin-C.
CBD acts as an anti-inflammatory
CBD may be promising because studies have shown that it may help with conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, and acne. Most of these conditions are caused by inflammation of the skin, and the built-in anti-inflammatory properties of CBD may help keep them under control.
CBD helps fight free radicals that cause wrinkles
Our environment causes our skin to react and change, which many people refer to as free radicals. These are the things that cause wrinkles to happen like too much sunlight, or not using lotion. New studies suggest that CBD can aid in anti-aging wrinkle fighting with it’s antioxidant properties. This means that CBD might neutralize these reactions and prevent them from happening on your skin!
CBD is an analgesic
Many people find pain relief with CBD products, some of which were able to stop taking other medications with more severe side effects ( such as sleeping pills). When used topically or orally, it can be an effective aid with painful conditions.
Marijuana CBD vs Hemp CBD
CBD comes from both hemp and marijuana plants, however it is generally legal in the US as long as it’s sourced from Hemp. Hemp CBD has little or no THC content which is why it’s allowed to be sold in all 50 states. If the CBD is sourced from marijuana, it likely has a high amount of THC in it, which only makes the product legal in states with marijuana laws.
There is a lot of confusion to some about whether products with CBD are legal or not, but a quick search reveals that Hemp sourced CBD has been allowed in the USA according to the Federal Farm Bill and states that products that contain .03% THC or less are classified as Hemp.
Whether the CBD comes from marijuana or hemp, it is the same chemical. Some people believe that CBD from marijuana may be more effective because of the entourage effect- the whole plants compounds work together (THC, CBN, CBC) to have a synergistic effect vs only CBD from hemp sources.
It’s important to note that the FDA has not cleared CBD for any uses, therefore medical claims can’t be made about it. One quick google search reveals there is no lack of customer reviews claiming that it works for them when they decided to try it.
